Alif Workbook

Bismillaahir-Rahmaanir-Raheem

Here's a small alif workbook. There aren't as many pages as baa because alif by itself is not a consonant, so no words can begin with it.  It is a long vowel, known as a madd in arabic.

Some books refer to this letter as an alif:

أ
But this is actually a hamzah which is just using the alif as it's "seat". You will also find it sometimes sitting on the waw and yaa:
ؤ   ئ
To study further, you are recommended to study the course offered at learnarabic.com. Click here for the explanation of the alif.

I hope I have explained the issue clearly.  May Allaah increase us all in knowledge.  Aameen.
